Is it possible not to fall in love with Shih-Tzu?

Absolutely impossible!

So, the people of our lovely country Ukraine are not an exception. 

The International cynological organization of our country UKU (Ukrainian Kennel Union) was founded in 1990. 

In 1992-1994 some first dogs Shih-Tzu were brought to Ukraine from Hungary and Russia. Those were very lovely, friendly, shaggy little dogs with unreal kind character and absolutely fantastic human’s warm eyes. For sure they captured people's hearts! The amount of these gorgeous dogs started to grow. 

 

As soon as Shih-Tzus appeared in our country, they started to participate in different Dog Shows and many people had possibility to watch their beautiful arrogant carriage with flowing stunning coat.

More and more people were becoming their admirers, especially after close communication with these little lions like from the fairy tales.

 

The very first Champion of Ukraine in breed Shih-Tzu was registered in UKU in 2001. It was CHINUA NIND ZYA NYAO NYAM. He was brought from Russia by his new owner Gennadiy Kitsis.

From the beginning of 21 century the Shih Tzu breeding in Ukraine began to gain momentum. People started to participate not only in Ukrainian Dog Shows but to take their dogs to foreign countries – mainly these were the neighbors of Ukraine – Moldova, Belarus, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland.

First breeders were looking for new bloodlines for them to get more beautiful Shih-Tzus in their breeding programs.

 

Nowadays there are many small and big Shih-Tzu kennels in Ukraine. Dedicated breeders of our glorious breed are trying to communicate, discuss different issues concerning our dogs, their health, body structure, caring of their coat, etc. 

For now we have a good achievement in the breeding and popularization Shih-Tzu. 

In August 2018, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the male Shih-Tzu of Ukrainian breeding THOMAS BRIGHT ODESSA JOY became a World Winner( breeder Varvara Mossy, kennel ODESSA JOY, Ukraine; owner Olena Haber, Ukraine). This fact makes us to be proud of what we do and push us to continue to love, to take care and to consider in many directions about our forever loved dogs Shih-Tzu!
